Hie grabs lead in Jakarta

Hie - third-round 67.

Rory Hie has taken a one-shot lead after the third round of the Indonesia PGA Championship thanks to a five-under-par 67.

Hie, from Indonesia, made seven birdies at the Imperial Klub Golf, and made his only slip at the 13th, where he double-bogeyed.

He moved to 13-under-par, one shot clear of second-round leader Matthew Millar.

“The crowds have been fantastic,” said Hie, the local favourite. “I am feeling very calm and focusing on breathing exercises between shots.

“I have prepared really well for this tournament and it has paid off. I am playing aggressive golf and plan to do the same tomorrow,”

Millar, feeling somewhat under the weather, still managed a 71 to stay in contention, though bogeys on the 14th and 18th holes curtailed his progress.

“My game was not too good today,” he said.

“I didn’t have a good rhythm. I was down with a fever and I had a really low energy level. I’m feeling better now but I’m still tired and aching all over. It affected my game.

“Hopefully, I will feel better tomorrow. My game plan is to do what I’ve been doing for the past two days, hit more fairways in regulation and make more putts.”

Tied for third two shots further back are Australian Andre Stolz (69) and Korean Park Eun-Shin (66).
