Are you getting tired of living with the golf slice which does not want to go away? Every long shot you play you have to aim to the left of the target to allow for the inevitable swing of the ball to the right.

Sometimes it does not curl as it usually does, instead it goes straight, but always right of the target. The trouble is, you don’t know why it bends or why it goes straight? If this is you, then read on.

Here are some tips to straighten your golf slice.

1. Have a look at the angle of your divot. If it goes left of the target you are cutting across the ball at impact. There are different reasons why you are doing this.

2. You could be standing too close to the ball. If you are not sure how far away you ought to be standing, let your arms hang down loose, and that is the desirable distance from the ball. The club head should be flat on the ground at the address.

3. Check your grip, especially that your right hand is not too far over the club. If it is, move it more to the left.

4.Take the club back straight at the start of the backswing, or slightly to the inside, and try not to snatch at the top of the swing. Begin the downswing by turning the hips first.

By following these simple tips you will have taken positive action to straighten your golf slice.

When Will Woods Play Again?

January 16, 2010 by TheMaster

Tiger Woods issued that he will take a indefinite break from professional life.

When will Woods play again? If he’s true to his word, and he is indeed taking this indefinite leave to save his family, he might not tee up for a very long time. He clearly has a lot of work ahead of him.

Tiger’s absence is a horrendous development for golf. In a down economy, the sport is already hurting for sponsors. Without Woods, they won’t come rushing through the ropes. But Tiger’s decision is not the death-knell many might suspect.

Yes, golf ratings often get sliced in half when Woods doesn’t play in a tournament. But don’t be surprised if a curious audience chooses to sample golf next year in higher numbers than expected.

First off, viewers might tune in to see how the networks handle Tiger’s absence. Will an announcer like NBC’s Johnny Miller, not known for pulling punches, be candid about Tiger’s off-course woes? What will other players have to say? Or will the networks just choose to ignore the scandal?

That would be a silly strategy because: 1) the golf audience is not stupid ;and 2) the golf media now really has no reason to fear Tiger’s wrath. In the past, the networks needed Woods way more than he needed them. Now, Tiger can use all the help he can get. He’s in no position to throw media fits upon returning to the tee.

A second reason why ratings might not totally tank: fans will want to know what a tour without Tiger feels like. When Woods was hurt, people wouldn’t watch because they knew he’d be back eventually.

What was the point? Now, what if he never comes back? That’s the longest of longshots, of course. But at this point, would anything in this story surprise you?

Under the much safer assumption that Woods does return, there’s a more realistic question. What if he’s not as good? It shouldn’t be a shock if this whole ordeal saps Tiger’s focus and mental acuity.

What if he starts losing, and our interest fades because, well, we now also know he’s wholly unlikeable. Bad player, bad person: not exactly a television programmer’s or viewer’s dream.

So golf fans need to find a backup plan. Woods attracted many fans to the sport. Will they be content to totally abandon the game, just because he’s not on the fairway?

Is it beyond the realm of possibility that these same Tiger fans, who have grown to appreciate both the sport as well as the superstar, will seek out other players to pull for? A Phil Mickelson? A talented young American like Anthony Kim? Of course, no other player has the charisma or talent of Tiger. But while Woods is away, fans may rehearse a golf life without him.

The same goes for Tiger’s sponsors. We’ve already seen cracks in the corporate armor. No Woods ads have run since shortly after the scandal broke. Pepsi dropped Tiger’s Gatorade drink. Even though the company insists those plans were long in the works, the move doesn’t reflect well on Tiger’s post-trangression brand.

TAG Heuer, the Swiss watchmaker, has ordered its stores in Australia to remove advertising posters featuring Woods. The company also insists the move has nothing to do with the scandal.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… currently their celebrity endorser. After news of Tiger’s intentions broke, AT&T, the golfer’s bag sponsor, said: “We are presently evaluating our ongoing relationship.” Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Nike, which built its entire golf business around Woods, and thus has the most to lose from his failings, is still sticking by him. “He and his family have Nike’s full support,” the company said.

Still, Tiger’s camp seems prepared for the worst. “Suffice to say, we have had thoughtful conversations and his sponsors have been open to a solution-orientated dialogue,” says Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent, in an e-mail. “Of course, each sponsor has unique considerations and ultimately the decisions they make we would fully understand and accept.”

Understanding? Acceptance? Is that really Tiger talking? Wow, it’s official: Tiger’s fight is all gone. The claws are clipped. And now we can honestly wonder: will they ever come back?

Jesper Parnevik, the Swedish golfer, introduced Tiger Woods to his wife said today that he thought the world number one “was a better guy than he is”.

Jesper Parnevik spoke out after Woods confessed to a number of “transgressions” in his personal life following a car crash outside his home.

Parnevik said he owed Woods’ wife, Elin Nordegren, an apology as it was he who introduced the American to her while she was working as his au pair in 2001.

Parnevik told the Golf Channel: “I would be especially sad about it – I really feel sorry for Elin – since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him.

“We probably thought he was a better guy than he is. I would probably need to apologise to her.”

He added: “It’s a private thing, of course, but when you are the guy he is, the world’s best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff.”

Woods was a 14-time major winner and scheduled to compete in his own tournament, the Chevron World Challenge, in California this week, but pulled out on Monday, citing the injuries suffered in the crash and is not scheduled to play again until next year.Jesper Parnevik said that it was him who introduce Woods’ wife to him, after Woods confessed to a number of “transgressions” in his personal life following a car crash outside his home, he thought that he had owed Woods’ wife an apology.

Elin had decided to divorce from Tiger Woods?how did Kultida Woods reply to the whole thing.

Tiger Woods’ mother is ‘angry and disappointed’ with him, according to a family friend. However, Kultida Woods has vowed to stand by her 33-year-old son, despite being ‘furious’ over his infidelity. ‘She is hurt, angry and disappointed in Tiger,’ the friend told People magazine.’ She wants to know how he could do this to his family.’

But, despite reportedly dealing with infidelity in her own marriage, 65-year-old Kultida is trying to forgive her son, according to the source.

‘She loves him and will support him through anything, but she needs some time to work through this.’

‘It was devastating to her. She likes Elin, and adores her grandchildren.

‘She’s worried about them. She doesn’t want to see them hurt,’ said the family friend.

Woods’ father, Earl Woods, who died from prostate cancer a couple of years ago, was allegedly unfaithful to Thai-born Kultida several years ago.

The golfer was said to have been ‘devastated’ when he learned of his father’s infidelity.

Kultida’s anger comes as Elin Woods prepares for divorce and a custody battle over her and Woods’ two young children, Sam, two, and Charlie, ten months.

One of Elin’s close friends told the Sunday Mirror: ‘She can’t believe Tiger’s behaviour. He says he wants to save the marriage, but he’s not doing anything about it.

‘Elin has had enough now,’ the friend told the newspaper. ‘She’s made up her mind that she’s going for custody.’

Tiger Woods, Chevron World Challenge

Tiger Woods, who is absent from Chevron World Challenge for his scandal storm( Tiger Woods’ Mistresses), gave his word to thanks the people who kept the charity event afloat.

He gave his thanks to sponsors for their contribution to the Tiger Woods Foundation to support the disadvantaged children.

He thanked foundation staff and volunteers “who collectively produce this first-class golf tournament”.

“I am so grateful to them for their efforts, and I am sincerely sorry I was unable to fulfil my duties as host and player in this important event,” Woods said in a statement posted on his website.

Woods’ latest website statement made no mention of the circumstances surrounding his withdrawal from the event on Monday, when he said injuries received in a mysterious one-car crash the previous Friday would prevent him from travelling from Florida.

Reports of the crash were quickly enmeshed in tabloid reports of marital infidelity, an explosion of speculation on the state of Woods’s marriage and, finally, a website statement admission from Woods of “transgressions” in his personal life.

PGA Champion Yang Yong-Eun of South Korea and Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell shared the lead heading into Sunday’s final round. McDowell was a late replacement for Woods in the field.

“Lastly, I’d like to thank our fans for continuing to support us,” Woods said. “Like them, I am extremely dedicated to this tournament, to my Foundation and the millions of young lives we serve. Thank you all for your support.”

Woods did not compete in last year’s Challenge due to a knee injury but was at the course and very much in evidence as tournament host.

Despite having won 14 major golf championships and the massive endorsement deals he landed, all this fame and money (about $1,000,000,000) can’t keep him out of trouble. The world assumed that Tiger wasn’t engaged in a racy affair with temptress Rachel Uchitel?.
All the unwanted attention became reason enough for Tiger to cancel his own charity golf tournament – Chevron World Challenge .
A few days ago he lost a huge sponsor – Gillette. He isn’t viewed any more as a role model for the shaving male public.

Steve Williams for Tiger’s Affair

Steve Williams, the long-time caddie of Tiger Woods claimed that he knew nothing of Tiger’s “transgressions”, though it is hard to believe the word of Woods’ caddie, agent and close friends.

About the infidelities, the New Zealander, Williams for the world No 1′s bag for the past decade stated that: “I had no knowledge of what Tiger’s indiscretion was,”
“I am an honest person. I had no knowledge of what was going on. If I did, I would say I did.”

He added: “What people fail to realise is I (just] work for Tiger Woods. I live in New Zealand, I travel to and from New Zealand to caddie for Tiger Woods. I am not with him 24/7.

“Whilst I am a very good friend of his… I don’t know what he does off the course. Some nights we go to dinner. His indiscretions have probably been (when he wasn’t playing].

“When he is not competing, I am back in New Zealand. I have no knowledge of what he is doing.

“Yes, I talk to him on the phone, ask him how his practice is going, how he is hitting the ball, how his family is, (but] I don’t know what he is doing, just like he doesn’t know what I am doing.”

Woods announced on Friday that he would take an “indefinite break” from golf after admitting his infidelity for the first time.

The 33-year-old, who is married to Swedish former model Elin Nordegren, has been swamped by a series of affair allegations since crashing his car in mysterious circumstances on 27 November.

Williams backed Woods’ decision to focus his attention on saving his marriage and remains committed to the troubled star. “Tiger just said he needs a break and I don’t want to put any pressure on the guy,” he said. “He will know in his mind, and his family will know in their mind, when it is the right time for him to return to playing golf.

“He will have the right people counseling him and between the people that counsel him, his wife and his immediate friends, when he is ready to come back he will be ready to come back.”

He added: “I have always stated that my last caddie job will be caddying for Tiger.

“I am committed to him. I understand he needs a break to sort his personal stuff out. And I will be there for him when he wishes to return to play.”

Meanwhile, television commentator Peter Alliss believes that if Woods does not play for the next six months he might never play again. Alliss, a former Ryder Cup player who has been television’s best-known commentator on the game for more than 30 years, has described Woods as being in “dreadful turmoil” and wonders what the future holds.

A great cost on Tiger Woods’s sex scandal

2009 is almost past away , back to this year , Tiger Woods’s sex scandal was one of the most hot topic. But you may not know how much did it costs.

It has cost the shareholders of companies endorsing the golfer up to $12 billion (?7.2 billion), according to a study by economic professors at the University of California-Davis.

The study, conducted by Victor Stango and Christopher Knittel, examined the market value of Woods’ main sponsors in the days following the the golfer’s late night car crash in November, and the subsequent revelations of extra-marital affairs.

“We estimate that shareholders of Tiger Woods’ sponsors lost $5-12 billion (?3-7.2 billion) after his car accident, relative to shareholders of firms that Mr. Woods does not endorse,” the professors wrote, adding that shareholder value fell an average of 2.3 percent.

Of the sponsors, it was the sports-related companies that fared the worst, with Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf, Gatorade, and Nike all suffering a 4.3 percent loss, or around $6 billion (?3.7 billion).

Woods – the world’s first sporting billionaire – was estimated to earn between $66 million (?41.5 million) and $100 million (?63 million) in endorsements each year before the scandal hit, but Gillette – one of his biggest sponsors – has since announced they are scaling back their use of Woods in its advertising campaigns while Accenture has dropped the golfer altogether.

More than a dozen women have been linked with Woods since the car crash, and the golfer has taken an “indefinite” break from the sport to focus on his family, though it has been said that wife Elin Woods has already launched divorce proceedings.

2010 is comming , hope to see a tolly new Tiger Woods in the golf course.
